ATLAS Selects Nelsen Partners to Design Three Mixed-Use/Retail Developments
(BRYAN, Texas) – ATLAS – the master-planned community for health and wellness companies – has selected Nelsen Partners for the planning and design of three mixed-use complexes to further enhance its exciting mix of residential and retail land uses.
Nelsen Partners will work closely with ATLAS and Texas A&M Biocorridor stakeholders to create an inspiring and energizing built environment. The firm is nationally known for its work on such high-profile projects as Kierland Commons (Scottsdale, Ariz.), and the Long Center in Austin.
Totaling more than 80,000 square feet, the ATLAS mixed-use development includes a 7,000 square-foot retail building, a 70,000 square-foot structure that will house office/health and retail space and a 4,000 square-foot waterfront restaurant and a lakeside pavilion. The pedestrian-friendly, wellness-focused enclave will offer professionals and families an upscale reprieve from the hustle-and-bustle of student-focused retail, restaurant and housing dominating the Brazos Valley.
Supporting the ATLAS mixed-use developments is The Stella Hotel, a stylish, modern veneer and interior, including: 177 rooms and suites, fitness center, 10,000 square feet of ballroom and conference space, resort-style pool area with bar, outdoor event lawn and restaurant/bar with alfresco dining.
ATLAS is the latest project for the Austin-based architecture firm. In addition to Kierland Commons and The Long Center, other notable mixed-use and retail districts they have designed include Scottsdale Quarter in Arizona and Stonefield in Charlottesville, Va. Nelsen Partners also is designing other retail and office complexes in Arizona, Virginia and Texas, and one in Egypt.
“We are elated to partner with one of the top architectural firms for mixed-use and retail districts,” says Spencer Clements, Principal, ATLAS and Traditions Development. “Our vision and Nelsen Partners’ design acumen and attractive portfolio will help make ATLAS one of the premier places to live, work and shop.”
